The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) has been named among the world’s top nine must-experience summer festivals, according to a recent list by Travel+Leisure Asia, further elevating Da Nang as a leading seasonal destination.

The prestigious travel publication highlighted DIFF as one of the most compelling global events to plan a summer holiday around, placing it alongside internationally renowned festivals in Europe and Asia.

A signature event on the global tourism map

First launched in 2008, DIFF has evolved into a flagship cultural event that transforms the banks of the Han River into a vibrant open-air stage. The festival typically runs from late May to mid-July, featuring multiple nights of competition between international fireworks teams.

According to Travel+Leisure Asia, the event stands out not only for its synchronised fireworks displays but also for its immersive atmosphere, combining music, street performances and large-scale public celebrations across the city.

Organisers emphasise that DIFF offers a comprehensive summer experience, with cultural activities unfolding along Bach Dang Street and riverside areas, attracting large numbers of domestic and international visitors each year.

The 2026 Festival is scheduled to take place from 30 May to 11 July, bringing together leading pyrotechnic teams from around the world and reinforcing the festival’s reputation as one of Asia’s most distinctive tourism events.
